Step 1: Download the CloudMonitor App into Power BI

This process will take you to the step-by-step guide in downloading CloudMonitor App into Power BI which will allow us to view a dashboard of your costs from Microsoft AppSource. 


Note: You will be required to sign in to Microsoft AppSource with your work or school account to download CloudMonitor into the Power BI App. Microsoft accounts are not supported for this app. 


Step 1: Go to the Microsoft AppSource


Go to the Microsoft AppSource and download CloudMonitor Power BI Reporting Application by clicking on “Get it Now”.

Step 2: Sign in to Microsoft AppSource


You will be required to sign in to Microsoft AppSource using your work or school account. If you already have one, just enter your email address in the text field: 



If you don’t have a Microsoft AppSource account yet, you have the option to “Sign up for a free account” from the sign in page. 


Note: Sign in with your work or school account to download CloudMonitor into the Power BI App. Microsoft accounts are not supported for this app. 

Step 3: Click on Get it Now


After entering your email address, you will be logged in to your account and redirected to CloudMonitor Power BI Reporting Application once again. 


From here, you just have to click on “Get it Now” to continue the installation process: 


Step 4: Review Disclosure Agreement


In order to proceed, just click on the checkbox for the disclosure agreement and click “Continue”. 

Step 5: Install the Power BI App


If it’s your first time installing CloudMonitor, just click “Install”. 



Just wait for the app to be installed:


When you have successfully installed the app, it will appear on your list of apps just like in the screenshot below:


Step 6: View the CloudMonitor App


To view the report, just click on the recently installed CloudMonitor App and it will redirect you to the CloudMonitor Power BI dashboard. You will be able to view the app with sample data: 


What’s the Next Thing to Do?


We just went through the process of downloading the CloudMonitor Power BI Reporting App. This still needs to be connected to the Azure CloudMonitor Analytics Engine which will install the core cost insights engine. 


The next thing to do is to download the Azure CloudMonitor Analytics Engine.
